Muir's shop

| Date From | 1950 | Shop management and staff outside Alex Muir & Son, grocery shop. The family grocer and wine merchants was established in 1859 at number 9 Townhead Street, Cumnock, and expanded into number 11 around 1954. Muir's sold their own blended whisky called 'Corsegallioch' after the hill at the south of Cumnock. The man in the middle is probably Alexander Muir, grandson of the founder. The shop closed in 1964. |
