Making the Ballast Bank, Troon

| Date From | | Horses and carts help with the creation of a bank to give additional protection to the harbour. The ballast used is from coal boats returning from Ireland. Original photograph is held at Marr College. It is possible that the shoes for the horses would have been made by a local blacksmith such as James Hutton located at Portland Street, Troon. |
