Date From	1848	Early stages of construction of Bank Viaduct, part of the Glasgow - Dumfries - Carlisle Line. It was built between 1848 and 1850. The line was officially opened in May 1850. The engineer was John Miller, and the contractor was James McNaughton of Auchinleck.
